Dan Sousa coordinates apprenticeship and workforce training for State Center Community College District. As an employee for 25 years, he has served in many capacities. Hired as an Electronics Instructor in August of 1992, Sousa was instrumental in developing new certificate programs influenced by his experience in industry as an Electronic Instrumentation Technician. In industry, he worked on many large industrial plants such as: Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, Budweiser Brewery, and Exxon Oil Platform in the Pacific Ocean. In addition, he worked on Co-Generation power plants, wineries, and various food processing facilities.
Sousa served as Department Chair of Fresno City College’s Electrical Systems Technology Program for 12 years (2002-2014). In 2006 he was appointed as a coordinator managing a Department of Labor Manufacturing grant. In 2014 he took on the role of Apprenticeship Coordinator and in 2015 started coordinating training and apprenticeship for the entire district. Sousa participates on many community committees including: High Speed Rail Education Sub-Committee, Fresno County Office of Education CTE Charter School, Fresno Unified CTE Advisory Sub-Committee and San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance. He was recently elected to serve on the Central California Builders Exchange Board of Directors.
