Jeff Deiss is a Regional Export Finance Manager with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), a position he has held since 2011. He is one of 20 such SBA loan officers in the nation who provide export financing assistance as part of the suite of services available from multi-agency U.S. Export Assistance Centers (USEAC’s). After working two years in Portland, OR, Deiss opened SBA’s San Francisco, CA export office in late 2013. He works with exporters and commercial lenders in northern and central California to find export financing solutions for small businesses. He also serves as the team leader for all of SBA’s export finance officers in the Western U.S.
Prior to joining SBA, Deiss was involved in commercial lending at USDA Rural Development where he was responsible for delivering a variety of financing programs to address the needs of rural communities. From 2005 to 2011, he was USDA’s Business Programs Director in Oregon where he oversaw the deliver of business financing and economic development programs. Deiss began his career with USDA in 1983 doing agricultural lending. He holds a MS and BS from the University of California, Davis, and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.
