As director of Aviation, Kevin Meikle is the chief executive officer for the aviation system in Fresno, which includes Fresno Yosemite International and Fresno Chandler Executive airports. FAT is a small hub airport served by five domestic and two international airlines. FAT accommodates over 1,500,000 passengers annually and has enjoyed 27% growth since 2010. Chandler is the largest general aviation airport in the central San Joaquin Valley of California and serves as a reliever to FAT. Meikle has served Fresno airports for 15 years. During his tenure with Fresno Airports, $150 million of work has been completed, such as: runways, taxiways, rental car, terminal and international arrival facilities, an ongoing noise mitigation program and numerous sustainability initiatives including a solar farm that provides 74% of the airports energy needs.
Meikle has a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is a licensed architect, and has 35 years of experience in the design and construction industry. He is also an instrument rated pilot and has been flying for 30 years.
