REPORTS TO: Processing Manager

LOCATION: Fresno, CA

SALARY RANGE: $18.00 to $24.00/hour, DOE

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

The Caglia Family has provided solid waste and recycling services to the Fresno area for over 70 years. Orange Avenue Disposal began in 1941 and has expanded over the years to Cedar Avenue Recycling Transfer Station (CARTS), Industrial Waste & Salvage (IWS), Caglia Construction Recycling, and Red Rock Environmental Group.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Line Lead plays a critical role in overseeing the production line’s operations and ensuring optimal performance. This position is responsible for supervising, training, and supporting Sorters to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. The Line Lead actively collaborates with the Operations Supervisor to ensure the efficient flow of materials and compliance with quality expectations. Additionally, the Line Lead fosters a positive, team- oriented environment and acts as a liaison between team members and company leadership.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all aspects of sort line operations, ensuring all Sorters are effectively trained and
Actively inspect materials and monitor line performance to meet efficiency and quality
Coordinate with the Operations Supervisor to address any challenges related to production flow or
Train new associates on their assigned roles, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance and ensure alignment with company
Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and championing workplace safety
Serve on the Emergency Response Team, ensuring readiness to handle incidents
Maintain open and direct communication with leadership, team members, and other
Provide translation services for meetings, training sessions, and other communications as
Actively encourage teamwork and foster a culture of respect and
Operate various pieces of mobile equipment to assist operators when
Ensure the facility and equipment are in good condition, promptly reporting malfunctions or concerns to the maintenance
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and meet operational

REQUIRED AND PRFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCES): The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Education, experience, and skill:

One year of previous sort line experience
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and coverage for other shift leads when
Team oriented with an eagerness to help
Ability to work in fast paced environment with prolonged standing and
Strong written and verbal communication skills, listening, follow-through, and interpersonal abilities
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor setting with exposure to various weather conditions, dust, odors,
Ability to lift 50lbs
Bilingual; English/Spanish
