Salary: $65,475 to $85k
Supervisor’s Title: Production Manager |
General Summary: This position is responsible for Leading, training, evaluating, and providing leadership of the Programming Team. As a working lead 75% of the time is used in production and 25% on other principal duties.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Possesses and utilizes effective functional and technical skills of a Technical Programmer.
2. Actively coordinate training and cross training, ensuring needed skills and competencies are Documented per ISO requirements. Maintain and update skill matrix. Evaluates all team members and conducts reviews, has a clear understanding of employee’s strengths and improvement areas. Acknowledge achievements and convey clear expectations and goals for the teams and individual’s development.
3. Maintain ISO record and ownership of departments ISO Processes and procedures.
4. Effectively coordinates team safety, ensuring safe work practices are utilized, workplace accidents are immediately reported to the appropriate authority.
5. Actively drives quality standards by verifying standard work processes daily. Ensures continuous flow within the department, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Implement countermeasures to meet key performance indicators (safety, quality, and delivery)
6. Accurately and promptly identifies, processes that may lead to scrap and creates solutions to resolve and bring back on track.
7. Actively participate in Preproduction meetings, update and schedule team based on priorities. Implement the daily programming plan. Establish project coordinators, ensuring project technical specifications, customer’s expectations, material requirements and manufacturability of the project are clearly identified within the Work Order work.
8. Establish estimated hours for programming department and work with team on how to accomplish and hold team members accountable.
9. Consistently drives positive, incremental improvements that deliver results.
10. Possesses a strong understanding of continuous improvements tools and proactively supports continuous improvement.
11. Effectively listens to concerns of employees, speaks professionally and effectively resolves conflicts and concerns regarding the daily execution of work.
12. Host Kickoff meeting for new projects, distribute meeting notes to sale, management, and production team.
13. Follow up with production teams on open projects, confirming clarification and execution of predetermined scope of work. provide additional information, fixturing, assistance as needed.
14. Effectively motivates individuals and facilitates positive team dynamics. Delegate’s authority and responsibilities for department projects and follow up and make corrections when needed.
15. Accurately and promptly identify equipment/software downtimes and quickly troubleshoot. If downtime is more than 30 minutes production manager need to be informed and further actions agreed upon collectively.
16. Manage the timekeeping of staff, ensure team members are accurately clocked into jobs.
17. Maintain an organized office, keep well maintained work areas, ensure all workorders are labeled and stored in their designated areas, if projects are on hold, label with reasons and plan for follow up.
18. Coordinate with Production Manager, schedule (build sequence), staffing, equipment, part routing and execution.
19. Coordinate with department leads as needed for assistance on special operations and/or projects.
20. Complete annual performance review and growth development plans for all supervised team members
21. Conduct Interviews and make decision if applicant is right for the team, initiate Programming test and programming qualification accordingly.
22. Maintain an organized personal schedule, utilize tools like Microsoft office calendars and reminders to set follow ups and task schedules.
23. Provide Weekly Updates of all open programming orders. Gage programming backlog, determine the need for Overtime and arrange when necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
3 years of leadership experience, minimum of 5 years’ experience in sheet metal manufacturing. Understanding of industry terminology, Strong understanding of GD&T, Solid Works (sheet metal, weldments, assemblies, and tables). Communication skills written and verbal, supports continuous improvement.
